Strong Opening on February Sale
NAFA’s February sale opened strongly with the sale of select wild fur articles. The sale of Timber
Wolves, Bears and Wolverines achieved very high clearances at levels stronger than anticipated.
There was competitive bidding throughout the afternoon in a lively auction room.
The sale continues tomorrow with NAFA’s premier collection of other wild fur articles and foxes.

Coyotes Rule the Day
As expected, the sale of Coyotes was the highlight of today’s auction as the need for this article in the fashion
trade continues to strengthen.
NAFA’s offering of over 51,000 Coyotes sold 100% at significantly advancing levels under strong competition
from Hong Kong, China and Italy in particular.
A fresh collection of sundry owner Muskrats was sold 98%, mainly to Chinese buyers.
There was also improved demand for Raccoons and that translated to a 75% sale of the fresh sundry owner
goods. All sections had good interest with the bigger, heavier Westerns meeting some price resistance.
Lynx sold under strong competition, selling 80% primarily to the Greek/Russian market.
A small collection of sundry owner Beaver sold 72%.
Today’s results have created a positive atmosphere in anticipation of tomorrow’s mink sale.

The Top Lot of Musquash was purchased by Bilodeau Canada of Québec, Canada for $15.00.
The Top Lot of Coyote was purchased by Rebellato Graziano S.A.S of Italy for $210.00.
The Top Lot of Raccoon was purchased by Felefasa of Haining, China for $92.00.
The Top Lot of Beaver was purchased by Bilodeau Canada of Québec, Canada for $100.00.
The Top Lot of Silver Fox was purchased by Randy Richard for Glacier Wear of Greenville, ME, U.S.A for
$150.00.

Korea Dominates Large Size Sable Sale
Sables sold 75%, with Korea dominating the large size heavy sables. Italy was very active in all the better
quality smaller sizes, while China bought throughout.
Fishers sold 65% overall, with China the most active throughout, with some support from Russia. Females sold
75% with a lower percentage of the larger size males.

Lynx Cats Advance
Yesterday’s sale of Lynx Cat was highlighted by excellent clearances and price increases, especially the better
quality Western sections with clear bellies. Most sections realized good clearances and price improvements, with
the exception of more commercial sections.
Greece, Turkey, China and Italy were the biggest buyers of Lynx Cat.

The Top Lot of Lynx Cat was purchased by Divine Luxury Furs of Kastoria, Greece for Elena Smirnova, Monaco
for $3,100.00.
