Earlier this year Sulphur native Jamison Trouth participated in the revived "Nutria Rodeo" held in Venice, La. He knew he'd be passing a good time with Paul Cozic, a spear-fishing buddy and Brett Ryan, a tuna boat captain, but he didn't realize he'd be helping Louisiana preserve its coastline in the process.

"I think they went six years without the rodeo," Trouth said. "This was my first time going."
